“She’s breathing on my shoreline.” is an 8-piece photo series intended to explore themes of familiarity and curiosity. For this project, I sought to insert and capture my partner in our different safe spaces. She and I are a few hundred miles away from one another and so I wanted to focus on the exploration of spaces with sentimental value to both of us. Her safe space is in nature, where she spends enough in to witness suns that withdraw rays from the sky and moons that throw cushioned beams upon her skin.
I find myself exploring her safe space, and in return, I invite her into mine. We would venture into my personal safe space, that is my bedroom. Characterized by walls filled with CD’s and vinyl's, powerful imagery and texts ripped out of my favorite magazines and books. All my inspirations and art that means the most to me, all in one space. This is where I spend most of my time, where I find the most peace and clarity.
